Twenty-nine (29) countries attended the 2nd IFBB Congress.

The IFBB was invited to join the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), an organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

IFBB President Ben Weider is flanked, on his left, by Serge Nubret of France (Vice President for Europe) and Alex Carali of Canada (General Secretary), and, on his right, by Malih Alaywan of Lebanon (Vice President for the Middle East) and Joe Weider of the USA (Patron)

The IFBB, as a legally-registered non-profit corporation, restructured by dividing its administration into two groups: a Board of Directors (to deal exclusively with corporate and business matters) and an Executive Council (to oversee basic bodybuilding and athletic activities). Elections were then held for positions on the Board of Directors and Executive Council.

The IFBB established its first Medical Commission.

The Congress was held in the regal setting of the Napoleon Hall
