The Parade of Nations Thirty-one (31) countries attended the IFBB Congress.
Short Class: from left to right: Bertagna (Italy), 3rd; Van Den Steen (Belgium), 1st; Makkawy (Egypt), 2nd Five patrons were appointed to the Executive Council. These were: Joe Weider, USA; Oscar State, England; John Ong, Singapore; Marc Hankard, Belgium; General Bakhtiar Rana, Pakistan.
Medium Class: from left to right: Birdsong (USA), 2nd; Enunlu (Turkey), 1st; Cesarion (France), 3rd Four new countries were affiliated - Afganistan, Australia, Guyana and St. Vincent, bringing the total to 87 National Federations.
Tall Class: from left to right: Ken Waller (USA), 2nd; Lou Ferrigno (USA), 1st; Paul Grant (Wales), 3rd Elections were held (every four years) for all positions on the Executive Council. Ben Weider, who four years ago, had been elected "President for Life", refused this position and stood for election like everyone else (he was re-elected unopposed). Also elected unopposed were: Serge Nubret (Europe), L. Martinez (South America), Tom Minichiello (North America), and Winston Roberts (General Secretary).
