Thirty-seven (37) countries attended the IFBB Congress.

Affiliated as new members were the following countries: Bahrain, Costa Rica, Cook Islands, Northern Ireland, and Nepal.

Oscar State, OBE, became the first "Executive Vice President", now called "IFBB Executive Assistant to the President".

The Medical Committee was reorganized. The IFBB Code of Ethics and new professional rules became part of the IFBB Constitution. The Technical and Judges Committees were combined - Jacques Blommaert became the first chairman of this new committee. Doris Barilleaux became the new Chairwoman of the Women's Committee.
