WORLD BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS and INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

Singapore

Forty-five (45) countries attented the IFBB Congress. Affiliated as a new member was Tahiti.
The Congress decided to introduce doping tests at the 1985 World Amateur Bodybuilding championships to be organized in Sweden.

Herman Hoffend (Germany) won the bantamweight category.

Amazing improved Antonio Stella from Italy last year could not even qualify for the 15 man semi-final. Yet this year, his shapely physique and great posing won him the silver medal in the Bantamweight class and also the Ben Weider Trophy for the most improved bodybuilder.

The Austria, with a spectacular dramatic routine,won the Julien Blommaert team posing trophy.
