THE IFBB INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

The annual meeting of the IFBB International Congress, held in Cairo, Egypt, October 27, 2002, was opened by the Chairman, Rafael Santonja, IFBB Executive Assistant to the President, who, along with Dr. Eng. Adel Fahim El Sayed, IFBB Vice President for Africa, welcomed all delegations.

This year's Congress was a Special Electoral AGM. Every four years, all positions on the Executive Council, except for Presidential appointments, are open for election. With the retirement of Warren Langman, IFBB Vice President for the South Pacific, Joe Duenas (Guam) was elected to this position.

All members of the IFBB Executive Council were given the opportunity to present their annual reports. These reports clearly demonstrated that the IFBB was continuing to experience tremendous growth and development worldwide, particularly in the area of participation at IOC recognized Regional Games.

The various propositions from the National Federations and Executive Council members were presented. The following resolutions were adopted: [See list of resolutions].

A presentation was made by Mr. Vivek Singh on the progress of the 57th IFBB Men's World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships and IFBB International Congress being held in Mumbai, India, November 5-10, 2003.

The Chairman, Rafael Santonja, closed the Congress by once again expressing his pleasure at seeing participation from 68 countries, 191 athletes, 64 judges and hundreds of other delegates and supporters.
